The Golf Guide® is a glossy, full-color magazine published four times annually: Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall.
The Golf Guide's mission philosophy is to promote the sport of golf, increase play at area courses through both daily-fee and golf travel, and also market other businesses peripheral to the sport. We do this with a multi-medium marketing program.
Since 1999, The Golf Guide® Magazine has been distributed directly through subscriptions and at 550 locations including regional golf courses, retail golf shops, driving ranges, hotels, visitor and tourism centers. The magazine is also distributed at 6 Regional Golf Shows each year. The Golf Guide® Magazine reaches 40,000 golfers in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, New Jersey, and New York as well as travelers from Canada.
The Golf Guide® website golfguideinc.com receive well over 2,000,000 successful hits and nearly 150,000 visitor sessions each year, and with continued high placement on the top search engines, are a vital part of the magazines marketing. Each month during the golf season (March-November), The Golf Guide® also sends out an E-Mail directly to the golfers that have signed up for it through the website. This E-Mail promotes specials or discounts, and is strategically placed to create immediate action from the golfers. See the list of Golf Guide advertising alumni.
Finally, The Golf Guide® also promotes the golf travel business through its golf package company Golf Guide Golf Getaways. Established in 2001, this subsidiary to the magazine generates golf travel rounds and lodging to eight specific destinations within The Golf Guide® distribution area. Through the magazine and website, Golf Guide Golf Getaways is able to bring business directly to golf course and lodging partners from golf travelers. The facilities don't have to do a thing. Golf Guide Golf Getaways makes the tee times and reservations, takes care of all the paperwork, and eventually writes our associates checks for doing business with us.
